Colocation is placing an independent server on an established internet backbone, which provides a constant high-speed connection from the internet to the
server(s).
# Do you require a contract?
No. Colocation services are considered month-to-month. We do require 30 days written notice of cancellation.
# What is the guarantee for uptime?
100% for power
99.99% for Internet
# What kind of hardware can I use?
Underground Colocation supports any type of hardware that is Rack Mountable using 19” Rack standards.
# What is 1U?
1U form factor and small footprint for convenient deployment in standard racks measuring 45mm (1.75") high by 420mm wide. Standard 19" rack for mounting.
# Colocation vs. Dedicated
With Colocation, the customer sends us their equipment which we connect to our network (no contract required). Dedicated server hosting is provided using our equipment on a rental agreement to the customer.
Our clients may purchase servers from our parent company, PC Net and get the advantage of onsite hardware warranty repair.
# Do you offer cabinet or private cage space ?
Both. Either direct from Underground Colocation or our Partner, Springnet.
# Can I administer my server remotely?
Yes. You may use any remote administration program to monitor your server(s) or other equipment co-located in our facility.
# Do you support colocation or hosting of voice over IP equipment?
Yes. We also sell and support a full range of Voice equipment from 3Com.
# Do you allow Adult Content or Spam type email services?
Underground Colocation WILL NOT TOLERATE ADULT CONTENT OR SPAM EMAIL. Please do not attempt to use our service for these purposes.
# How secure is your location?
Extremely. There is 24x7 manned security, video surveillance, bio-metrics, building-within-building data centers, card scan and PIN for cabinet access. The facility is HIPAA compliant.
# What is your internet connection?
The facility has 1Gbit (1000Mbit) connections from 3 different transit providers over buried fiber optic cable.
# What is the turn around time to get my equipment connected to your network?
Typically, 48 hours, but turnaround is dependant on equipment and services needed by our customers.
# Is your facility carrier neutral?
Yes, we offer carrier free colocation space. Cross connects are typically free.
# Do you have a reseller program or do you offer quantity discounts?
Yes, please use our eSupport system to contact us for discounts and reseller opportunities. In addition, see the Reseller link on our website for Partner information and sign-up form.
# Are there any other fees I should be aware of?
We will quote all of the fees needed to get your project operational in advance. We offer many IT related services that are billed by the hour at prevailing rates.
# What if my server has a problem while it’s Co-Located at your location?
We can set an appointment to work on your server for you, or meet you at the facility. This service is available two ways. Monday through Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm for no additional recurring charge which includes basic hardware diagnostics and reboots with a limit of 6 per year, or 7x24x365 for clients requiring around the clock access to a network engineer. Repairs of customer owned hardware and software will be charged by the hour at prevailing rates.
# I do not have the skills to manage my equipment and/or software, what are my options?
We can offer a full range of IT Services customize to meet your needs. Anything from customer server configurations, OS installation, mainteneance, security services, voice services, and much more.
# I just want to host a website, not a server, can you assist?
Yes. Use the hosting link on our website to review options and pricing
# Can you register my domain name for me?
Yes, we offer a full range of Domain services including automated renewal service.
# How do I sign up?
