Four electric substations are all located within 2 miles of the site. A 161 kV transmission line crosses the development adding additional reliability by tying in City Utilities’ McCartney Generating Station. This facility offers a total of 100 Mw from (2) 50 Mw gas fired combustion turbines all within 3 miles of SpringNet Underground. Specifically within SpringNet Underground, the utility power is N+1 backed-up and conditioned by parallel redundant UPS's. Additionally, a 2 Mw generator stands by ready to provide back-up power in the unlikely event of an interruption. All electric transformation, switchgear, distribution, UPS's, and back-up generation, including fuel are located underground to ensure continuous operations during a natural/unnatural event.
